Lindau funfair

The colorful mixture of folk festival, amusement park and market is a good opportunity to visit Lindau outside the main season: about 140 merchants, 60 showmen and thousands of visitors spread a busy and lively atmosphere on the island. The fair includes stalls selling household goods, toys, and crafts, amusement rides at the seaport promenade, and traditional games. It has a long tradition dating back to the 17th century, originally serving as a market for goods otherwise hard to obtain.
